In a tweet, Priyanka Gandhi said, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the people of Karnataka for giving a historic mandate to the Congress party.” This is the victory of your issues.
It is a victory for giving priority to the progress of Karnataka, he said. This is the victory of politics that unites the country.
Assuring the people of Karnataka to stick to the promises made in the Congress manifesto, he said, the party will work with full dedication to implement the guarantees given to the people of Karnataka. Long live Karnataka, long live Congress.
Meanwhile, his brother and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet, “The power of the poor has defeated the power of BJP’s capitalist friends.”
The Congress won 136 seats out of 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. The party has secured absolute majority to form the government in the state.
BJP has won 64 seats.
