Bengaluru, March 31 (). Investigation into the case of a youth from West Bengal raising pro-Pakistan slogans in Bengaluru has revealed that the accused is a mentally challenged person. Police said Friday that the investigation would continue.
Ankush, a resident of a PG facility in Bengaluru, was detained by the MICO Layout police for raising Pakistan Zindabad slogans at a public place near BTM Layout 2nd stage. On Thursday, people called the police after the accused suddenly started raising slogans.
The police interrogated the accused throughout the night and informed his family members. His family had also told the police that their son was in a mentally unstable state for some time. The police have also confirmed that the accused is a mentally unsound person.
However, the police are continuing with the investigation and have taken statements from his friends and residents of the paying guest (PG) facility.
DCP South-East C.K. Baba told that the young man raised slogans in front of a shop while watching web series on mobile. He said, the people who came to the shop had called the police. The investigation is on.
