Saluting our CHAMPIONS!” Celebrations erupted in the hometowns of the women cricketers. In Mohali, Amanjot Kaur’s family was overjoyed and celebrated the win with drum beats and sweets.
Her father, Bhupinder Singh, who owns a carpenter shop, mentioned that she called the family after the team won the final and expressed her happiness. He noted that Kaur enjoyed various sports in school before focusing on cricket. Singh added that her grandmother would always watch her play. The family has plans to celebrate her return. One relative expressed that they were at a loss for words to describe the team’s victory, promising more celebrations upon her arrival. Kaur’s coach, Nagesh Gupta, expressed pride in her performance, highlighting her dedication to the sport. The village of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur in Moga district also celebrated, with a villager stating, “It was a great match. We are very happy about the victory.
We distributed sweets.”
