Bengaluru, May 1 (). Continuing his attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in poll-bound Karnataka, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain all the steps taken to check corruption in Karnataka.
Addressing a huge public meeting in Hassan, Rahul Gandhi said, BJP first stole your government and then stole your money through the government. Now the PM comes here and gives a speech, but does not speak anything on the corruption that has happened in Karnataka in the last three years. The truth is that they know everything.
Rahul Gandhi asked, I ask him – what action have you taken to stop corruption in Karnataka in the last three years? How many people did you act on?
He said, ask any child of Karnataka – what is the name of the government? He will tell you 40 per cent govt. Everyone knows this. The Contractors Union wrote a letter to the PM informing about the 40 percent commission, but he did not respond. Dingleshwar Swami ji says that 30 percent commission was taken from his Math, he was kindly given a discount of 10 percent.
Rahul Gandhi further said, in the Mysore sandal soap case, a BJP MLA’s son was caught with Rs 8 crore in cash. There have been scams in the recruitment of Police Sub-Inspector, Assistant Professor, Assistant Engineer, there has also been a scam in the Cooperative Bank.
Rahul said, Modi ji, please talk about these issues in your speeches. You come here and say that Congress attacked me, abused me. Also please tell what you have done for Karnataka in last 3 years. Here, the question is not about PM. It is about the youth, farmers and women of Karnataka.
Asking another question to PM Modi, the former Congress President said, Modi ji, what action did you take when there was violence on the Karnataka-Maharashtra border? How did you help Karnataka in the water dispute between Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka?
He said, when we give speeches, we take the names of our leaders. Like I showed respect to Congress leaders before starting my speech. We took the names of Siddaramaiah ji, Shivkumar ji, Kharge ji, Parmeshwar ji. You don’t even take the name of Yeddyurappa ji or Bommai ji. Mention the names of BJP leaders in your speeches, they will like it. Respect them too.
Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress has prepared a roadmap for the next five years for Karnataka.
He said, we have come up with these plans after talking to the people. Congress is going to give 5 revolutionary schemes to the people. We are going to put back in their pocket the money looted by BJP from them.
Rahul said, BJP leaders love the number 40. He took 40 per cent commission in every job. Remind them this number 40. For 3 years, he reminded you of the number 40. Give them 40 seats in the elections and give at least 150 seats to Congress, because if we get less than 150 seats, BJP will again try to steal your money. Teach them a lesson, this is your chance.
