Ghaziabad, May 28 (). The mahapanchayat of the farmers running on the Ghazipur border ended on Sunday and Rakesh Tikait, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, has decided to withdraw from the border. The next panchayat will be held on June 11 at Baju village in Muzaffarnagar district.
Rakesh Tikait said, we have included the agenda of women wrestlers in our monthly panchayats and meetings. This agenda will also be discussed in our every meeting. Whatever decision will be taken by the Khap Panchayats in the issue of wrestlers, it will be accepted. Now at the moment we are going to our home.
Farmers were joining the Panchayat in support of the wrestlers sitting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The farmers were stopped by the police, due to which the angry farmers sat on a dharna and started creating ruckus. The police somehow handled the situation.
Rakesh Tikait had said earlier, until the wrestlers arrested in Delhi are not released, the farmers will not rise from the Ghazipur border. After this, when the police started releasing some wrestlers, Rakesh Tikait also announced to end the picket at Ghazipur border. He said, the protest is over here, the farmers will now be called to the Muzaffarnagar Mahapanchayat, for the time being everyone should go to their respective homes.
