Samsung has initiated its Disaster Relief & Care Program in Punjab to provide immediate assistance to customers and communities impacted by recent flooding. This program is specifically designed to deliver essential household services in affected areas through care camps that are equipped with basic appliances and emergency kits. Over the years, Samsung has consistently supported communities during challenging times through various initiatives, including Valley of Hope in Srinagar (2014), Care for Kerala (2018), and Care for Maharashtra (2019). These efforts have enabled thousands to access essential services, rebuild their lives, and regain hope in difficult situations.
In Gurdaspur, Punjab, which has been severely affected by recent floods, Samsung has already begun to receive requests for assistance through its contact and service centers. The number of individuals seeking help at the camp is expected to grow as local announcements spread to nearby villages. Most assistance requests pertain to water-damaged smartphones, washing machines, and refrigerators—crucial appliances for daily living. To facilitate swift relief, Samsung has dispatched customer service teams to provide direct support on-site. Awareness of these camps is being raised through posters at authorized service centers, banners on Samsung Members, organic social media outreach, and local announcement vehicles dispatched throughout the affected villages in Punjab.
Additionally, to prepare for potential future emergencies, Samsung has strategically positioned large tents and essential relief kits at four major locations—Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. These mobile care centers will be activated in disaster-stricken areas to provide: washing facilities with Samsung Washing Machines, safe food storage and medicine cooling using Samsung Refrigerators, hot meals and instant food heating with Samsung Microwave Ovens, and access to drinking water with tanks, pumps, and generators to ensure a steady water supply. Each camp is also furnished with tables, chairs, drying racks, soaps, detergents, and safety kits that include reflector vests, gloves, and caps to maintain a safe and hygienic setting for both customers and staff.
Following disasters, Samsung typically sees a surge of up to 30% in service calls due to appliance damage. Informed by customer feedback, Samsung’s service teams quickly assess situations and implement the Disaster Relief & Care Program to support affected communities. Disasters may disrupt homes, but they do not diminish Samsung’s dedication to its customers, partners, and the larger community. From India to Nepal, and from Sri Lanka to Kashmir, Samsung’s relief efforts reflect its broader commitment to citizenship and care, ensuring that innovation serves humanity. The new Disaster Relief & Care Program enhances Samsung’s promise to be not only a technology leader but also a reliable partner in times of need.
