New Delhi, March 31 (). Independent MP Kapil Sibal criticized Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for thanking Germany for taking note of Rahul Gandhi’s case and said, “crutches are not needed to move forward here”.
In a tweet on Friday, Sibal said, Digvijaya Singh thanked Berlin for taking note of how democracy is being compromised in India. In my view, we don’t need crutches to move forward, we Support from abroad is not required. Our fight is our own and we are together in this.
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Thursday thanked the German Foreign Minister for his comment on Rahul Gandhi’s punishment and disqualification from Parliament.
Thank you to Germany’s Foreign Ministry and Richard Walker for bringing attention to how democracy in India is being compromised through harassment of Rahul Gandhi,” Singh tweeted.
The German Foreign Ministry spokesperson commented on Rahul Gandhi’s case for the first time, and said, his country is watching the verdict and Rahul’s suspension from Parliament. “The appeal will determine whether there is a ground for suspension or not,” he said. His country expects standards of judicial independence and democratic principles.
Responding to Digvijaya Singh’s remarks, the Union Law and Justice Minister said, thanks Rahul Gandhi for inviting foreign powers to interfere in India’s internal affairs. Remember, Indian Judiciary cannot be influenced by foreign interference. India will not tolerate foreign interference.
