New Delhi, April 3 (). Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrive at Rahul Gandhi’s residence ahead of the filing of the appeal in a Surat court on Monday.
The party is planning to show its strength. Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states and senior party leaders are accompanying Rahul Gandhi to Surat as he files his appeal against his conviction.
Rahul Gandhi will be present in a court in Surat, Gujarat on Monday. There he will file an appeal against the conviction and sentence in the criminal defamation case. Party workers and leaders will also reach there.
Party sources said the legal team has made all preparations for the appeal.
Rahul Gandhi was convicted in a defamation case on March 23 and sentenced to two years in jail, following which he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha.
