Jaunpur, 25 April (). Supporters of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Lucky Yadav allegedly manhandled and manhandled policemen and officials who went to his house to free two junior engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) and a contractor who were detained. .
A senior police officer said that the junior engineer and the contractor had gone to the Malhani MLA’s house in connection with the work being done on both sides of the Olandganj-TD College road in Jaunpur, but all three were forcibly made to sit in the house.
A video of the incident went viral on social media.
The MLA denied the allegation saying police personnel misbehaved with him.
Superintendent of Police, Rural Area, Shailendra Singh said that on receiving information that three people, including two JEs and a contractor, were held hostage in the Malhani MLA’s house, the city magistrate reached there with a heavy police force and freed them.
He said some people misbehaved with the police when the team reached there.
Singh said, the entire matter is being probed – it is alleged that three people were held hostage and some people misbehaved with the police. Action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
There, Lucky Yadav said, I was in my house, when four people were entering the house. On seeing them, I asked my security personnel who they were. When the security personnel tried to talk to them, one fled and three were caught.
He said, I told the senior police officers of the district about the whole incident. When the police did not turn up, I called up the CO (Circle Officer) City and informed him. After some time, the police reached the house and one person used unparliamentary language and casteist words. The police misbehaved with me and dragged me by my collar.
The MLA said that the allegation of taking the JE and the contractor hostage is wrong. If I had taken someone hostage then why would I call the police myself and inform about the incident.
