Bengaluru, May 17 (). On the ongoing tussle over the Chief Minister’s post in the Congress, Acting Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that this development reflects the internal position of the party. Talking to reporters here, Bommai said people voted for the Congress party in the hope that the change of government would bring prosperity to the state and the people.
They (Congress) are yet to finalize their candidate for the post of CM, he said. This is their internal matter and I do not want to comment on the matter. But, it is going to reflect on the Congress party that despite having absolute majority, unable to finalize the CM candidate. It reflects the internal position of the party.
People’s aspirations are more important than political objectives, Bommai said. They should resolve the matter as soon as possible and form the government.
Bommai said, Congress leaders talked a lot about Lingayats and appeased them. Let’s see what position they will offer him. Will they give him the post of Chief Minister or any other post.
