Bengaluru, April 1 (). The Karnataka Police has registered an FIR based on a complaint by a female sportsperson from Punjab, alleging that a fellow athlete videotaped her while she was taking a shower.
The incident took place on March 28 at 10 pm at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) women’s hostel in Bengaluru. Gyanbharti police has registered a complaint in this regard.
According to the police, the victim is a taekwondo player from Punjab and has lodged a complaint against the volleyball player.
The victim had said in her complaint that while taking a bath, her attention went upstairs from where someone was making her video. She wrapped herself in a towel and reached the part of the bathroom from where her video was shot.
After two-three minutes the volleyball player came out. The complainant asked him to show the mobile. The accused showed him different photographs on his mobile. The complainant insisted that he show the deleted folder.
The complaint said, the accused player had thrown the mobile on the ground and later ran away from the spot with it. When questioned by trainers, he handed over the broken cellphone.
The taekwondo player demanded the police to initiate action against the volleyball player. Investigation underway.
