Hyderabad, May 6 (). Telangana Police has launched an emergency helpline for the people of the state stranded in violence-hit Manipur.
Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar said that the Telangana Police is coordinating with the Manipur Police to provide assistance. Telangana has issued this helpline number 7901643283 for citizen assistance. The phone lines are open round the clock and citizens can also email dgpattheratetspolice.gov.in.
At least 20 people have lost their lives in the Manipur carnage since May 3, a government official said here on Saturday. However, unconfirmed reports put the death toll at between 50 and 55.
