New Delhi, May 12 (). The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested three persons from Punjab from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi for their alleged involvement in drugs nexus linked to Pakistan. The accused were allegedly supplying drugs smuggled from Pakistan through drones to Punjab and other states.
The Punjab Police has taken the three, identified as Dharmendra Singh, a resident of Amritsar, Malkit Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran in Punjab, and Harpal Singh, into custody. Sources said that they were getting the drugs from a peddler sitting across the border and were working at the behest of Pakistan’s secret agency ISI.
According to the police, all three also have links with Indian fugitives living in the Philippines and the US. They were supplying drugs to Punjab and other states since 2011 and the money earned was sent to Pakistan through the hawala network.
Police have also recovered arms and ammunition from the possession of the accused persons. According to the police, when we scanned their phones, we also found contact numbers from the US and the Philippines. The numbers seem to belong to those who were instructing them. We are also trying to ascertain whether he had links with Harvinder Singh Rinda, who was the mastermind of the RPG attack on the intelligence headquarters of Punjab Police in May last year.
