New Delhi, May 9 (). Delhi Police has arrested three youths for firing over a minor issue in Seelampur area. An official gave this information on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Adil alias Raja (23), Faisal (23) and Asghar alias Arif (23), all residents of J Block, New Seelampur, Delhi, and the incident took place late on Monday night.
The officer said that the accused had no previous involvement in any crime.
Two pistols have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
According to the police, the police control room at Seelampur police station received a call at 11:08 pm. On Monday, a police team reached the spot regarding the assault and firing.
A senior police officer said, it was learned that K. Several youths were fighting in the block. They were all familiar with each other. After some time a group of youths came and fired shots in the air and fled from the spot.
Later, two empty cartridges were recovered from the spot. However, there is no report of any injury.
A case has been registered under sections 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) and 27 Arms Act, the officer said. Three accused have been arrested and the weapons used in the crime have been recovered from them.
The officer said the cause of the firing was a quarrel over a trivial matter and the source of the weapons is being ascertained.
