Turkish Airlines Introduces New Flights to Port Sudan

Turkish Airlines has commenced flights to Port Sudan, expanding its African destinations to 63, the most of any global airline. Initially, the airline will operate two flights weekly until September 29, after which it will increase to three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, expressed excitement about the new route, highlighting Port Sudan’s historical and strategic significance. He emphasized the route’s potential to enhance the city’s commercial opportunities, cultural heritage, and tourism, fostering connections in trade, education, and cultural exchange. Turkish Airlines plans to further expand its African network.

Passengers can fly from Istanbul to Port Sudan until March 31, 2026, with tickets starting at USD 585 for purchases made by December 15, 2025, and from Port Sudan to Istanbul starting at USD 638. Promotional prices are available on the airline’s official website and may differ at sales offices. The flight schedule includes departures from Istanbul on Wednesdays and Fridays, with times adjusted to local time in Port Sudan. As Sudan’s largest port city on the Red Sea coast, Port Sudan is vital for international trade, particularly in oil and agricultural exports, and showcases a rich cultural heritage through its markets and historical sites.
