UP Yoddhas demonstrated their superiority by defeating Tamil Thalaivas 39-22 in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12. This significant 17-point victory marked their third win of the season and their first after five matches. Both the raiders and defenders collaborated effectively to secure two crucial points. The Yoddhas excelled in every aspect of the game, achieving more successful raids (15 compared to 9), a higher raid success rate (36.59% versus 22.5%), and a better raid strike rate (43.9% against 27.5%). They also had longer raid streaks (9 to 2), more successful tackles (15 to 10), and a superior tackle success rate (71.43% to 40%).
It was a great display of teamwork, with each player in the Starting 7 contributing significantly. Raiders Gagan Gowda and Bhavani Rajput scored seven and six points, respectively, while Captain Sumit Sangwan and Vice-Captain Ashu Singh combined for nine points. Shivam Choudhary added five points, and Mahender Singh along with Hitesh contributed seven in defense. The first half concluded with a score of 15-10 in favor of the Yoddhas. In the second half, under Coach Jasveer Singh’s guidance, the team surged ahead, scoring 22 points while the Thalaivas managed only 11. With both their attack and defense performing at peak levels, the Yoddhas secured a resounding victory.
