Pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi Shrine Restarts After 22-Day Halt

The pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, located on the Trikuta Hills in Reasi district, resumed on Wednesday morning following a 22-day suspension. This break was prompted by a landslide near Ardhkuwari that resulted in 34 fatalities and left 20 others injured on August 26. Shrine board officials reported that the yatra recommenced at 6 am after the temporary halt due to adverse weather and necessary track maintenance. A significant influx of devotees is anticipated in the coming days, especially during the Navratri festival from September 22 to October 1.
