In recent months, WhatsApp has rolled out various new features and updates. This latest roundup highlights the ability to send Live and Motion photos, enhanced creative options with Meta AI, and more. Live and Motion photos allow users to share Live Photos on iOS and Motion Photos on Android, capturing moments with sound and movement for richer sharing experiences across platforms. Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced Chat Themes for chat customization, and now users can leverage Meta AI to create their own custom themes. (Note that Meta AI features may not be accessible to all users.) Additionally, users can create unique video call backgrounds using AI, placing them in their preferred environments or trying out new ones.
AI backgrounds can also be added to photos and videos taken directly in chats. New sticker packs have been launched to enhance chat expression and enjoyment, including the Fearless Bird, School Days, and Vacation packs, which feature adorable characters that convey feelings without words. To simplify group interactions, WhatsApp has improved the group search function, allowing users to find groups by searching for a member’s name in the Chats tab. Lastly, Android users can now scan, crop, save, and send documents directly from WhatsApp, a feature previously available on iPhone. Stay tuned for more exciting updates coming soon!
