Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 Achieves Record 276 Crore Visits

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 has changed the way India celebrates and shops during the festive season. This year, Amazon India noted over 276 crore customer visits, with 70% originating from tier 2 and 3 cities, purchasing a wide range of products from smartphones and smart TVs to sarees, festive decorations, beauty items, and everyday necessities. With only five days left in this 30-day event, Amazon India has reported remarkable engagement across all metrics – customer visits reached a record high, facilitating hundreds of crores in GST savings across various categories. Furthermore, this year saw the largest number of sellers nationwide making sales, covering regions such as Kangra, Haridwar, Muzaffarpur, Jamnagar, Darjeeling, Shimoga, and Salem.

During the Amazon Great Indian Festival, Prime members received exclusive offers, deals, and Amazon’s fastest delivery options. “The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 has set new records with 276 crore customer visits, reinforcing Amazon’s reputation as India’s most favored online shopping destination. We take pride in our services reaching every serviceable pin code across India, with over 70% of our customers from tier 2 and 3 cities. Our sellers and brand partners have experienced significant growth in categories such as smartphones, appliances, consumer electronics, home & kitchen, beauty, fashion, and more, highlighting the trust that customers from all regions continue to place in us.

This year’s festival generated over INR 1,000 crore in customer savings via bank offers, GST benefits through sellers, and cashback rewards. We are thrilled to witness robust growth for countless sellers, ranging from small businesses and local artisans to made-in-India brands. Our sellers offer customers an extensive selection, enhanced by our improved delivery and payment innovations, including a 60% increase in same-day deliveries compared to last year, no-cost EMI, and attractive bank and exchange offers. We are grateful for the customer trust that drives us to make festive shopping more rewarding than ever before,” stated Saurabh Srivastava, Vice President, Amazon India.

Prime delivery reached an unprecedented scale, with Prime members across India experiencing faster deliveries than ever before, totaling more than 4 crore products delivered the same day (1.4 crore, up 60% year over year) and the next day (2.8 crore, up 22%). Amazon’s delivery network expanded throughout India, with same-day and next-day deliveries to Prime members in metropolitan areas increasing by 29% year over year, while two-day deliveries in tier 2 and 3 cities rose by 37%. Prime membership continued to grow beyond urban centers, with around 70% of new Prime members coming from tier 2 and 3 cities. This year marked the highest participation of small and medium businesses (SMBs), with over two-thirds from tier 2 and 3 cities.

The 2025 edition of the Amazon Great Indian Festival set a record for the most sellers across the country making sales, spanning diverse areas like Kangra, Haridwar, Muzaffarpur, Jamnagar, Darjeeling, Shimoga, and Salem. Amazon Bazaar, the platform for ultra-affordable products, saw a doubling in seller participation this year, with over half of Bazaar sellers achieving their highest single-day sales. Moreover, Amazon Bazaar experienced a 15-fold increase in sellers exceeding INR 1 lakh in sales during the event, compared to last year. Eighteen states and Union Territories reported their highest number of sellers surpassing INR 1 lakh in sales, including Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh. During the festive period, one in four customers utilized Amazon Pay.

One in four orders were placed using UPI, indicating UPI’s status as the preferred payment method across India, which saw a 23% increase from the previous year. One out of every six purchases in mobile phones, large appliances, TVs, and electronics was made using EMI, with four out of five of those purchases on No Cost EMI (NCEMI). There was a 10% year-over-year increase in NCEMI usage across appliances, fashion, groceries, baby, and pet products. Utilization of the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card rose by 10% year over year, with cardholders’ spending increasing by an impressive 15% compared to 2024, reflecting heightened consumer trust. This increase in spending was accompanied by a 13% rise in transaction volume.

Gift card sales surged by 42%, showcasing the growing preference for digital gifting solutions in India. Amazon Pay Later saw an 84% increase in new issuances and a 15% year-over-year increase in usage compared to 2024. With Rewards Gold, customers could earn guaranteed 5% cashback across 15+ brands and categories, including everyday essentials and fashion, when they completed 25 payments in three months (including the current month) using Amazon Pay UPI. International flight bookings grew by 10% in value and 15% in bookings during the Amazon Great Indian Festival compared to the previous year. The demand for premium smartphones priced above INR 30,000 grew by 30%, with tier 2 and 3 cities contributing 65%.

Customers upgraded from 43-inch to 55-inch TVs (a 10% year-over-year increase), while sales of 75+ inch TVs surged by 70%, reflecting a preference for the premium segment made affordable through GST revisions. QLED TVs saw a 105% growth, and Mini-LED sales increased 500 times. The MacBook Air M4 saw exceptional demand, growing 21 times. Sony home theatre systems experienced a 320% year-over-year increase. The fashion and beauty sectors recorded up to 95% year-over-year growth, driven by a variety of top brands and rising interest in premium and festive categories. Lab-grown diamond jewelry saw an extraordinary 390% year-over-year growth, while precious jewelry and silver coins noted a remarkable 200% increase. Premium apparel brands grew by 150%, fueled by festive wear.

Korean beauty products experienced a 75% increase, reflecting interest in global trends. Demand for premium watches rose by 55%. Professional beauty, haircare items, and footwear grew by 40%. The market for two-wheeler vehicles surged by 105% year-over-year, driven by an expanded selection of over 550 models from 18 OEMs available in more than 4,000 pin codes and over 2,000 towns and cities, with an average delivery time of just six days. Customer favorites included the Xtreme 125R and Bajaj Pulsar 125 in petrol bikes, Ather Rizta and Chetak 3501 in electric vehicles, and KTM 250 in premium bikes, while Amazon expanded its premium offerings with new launches from Royal Enfield and brands like KTM, Triumph, JAWA, Yezdi, and KeeWAY.

The interest in connected mobility products surged by 88% year-over-year, indicating a growing consumer interest in digital technologies such as wireless car play systems, dash cams, and smart mobility appliances. Amazon’s ultra-fast delivery service continued in select pin codes of Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, delivering festive essentials in minutes. Amazon Fresh saw a 60% increase in orders from tier 2 and 3 cities, with fruits and vegetables accounting for 50% of this demand. Sales of seeds and dry fruits both increased by 50%, while hair care products grew by 60%. Sports nutrition items rose by 40%, and whey protein sales increased by 30% as holistic wellness became a festive priority.

Organic, sustainable, and premium products, including specialty groceries like Two Brothers and Khapli Atta and eco-friendly baby brands such as Bambo Nature, saw 100% growth during the festive period. The premium gifting selection also saw 100% growth in non-metro markets, reflecting expanded festive shopping beyond urban areas. Beverage trends indicated a national expansion of coffee culture during festivities, surpassing tea with a 30% growth, particularly strong in tier 2 and 3 cities at 60%. Sales of festive lights and décor surged by 500%. Made in India brands like Atomberg, Borosil, and Pexpo reported their highest festive sales ever, growing by 38% year over year. Treadmills saw a 60% increase, while vibration walking pads and children’s scooters experienced strong demand.

Amazon Bazaar, the platform for ultra-affordable products, saw a 150% increase in daily shoppers during the festive season. New customer sign-ups soared by over 400%, with more than 65% of them from tier 2 and 3 cities. Amazon Business experienced a 30% year-over-year increase in new business customer registrations, and bulk orders through Amazon Business rose by 120% year-over-year, with corporate gifting seeing approximately 60% year-over-year growth.
