Muzaffarpur, May 2 (). Three houses caught fire late on Monday night in Sadar police station area of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. In this incident, four sleeping girls were burnt to death and six others were injured.
According to the police, a fire broke out in a hut-like house near Ramdayalu station of Sadar police station area at around 1 am. The fire engulfed three houses.
After the fire incident, the local people tried to control the fire but were not successful. After this the fire brigade was called, only then the fire could be controlled.
In this incident, four girls sleeping in the house were burnt to death while six others were injured. The deceased have been identified as Soni Kumari (15), Amrita Kumari (12), Kavita Kumari (8) and Shivani Kumari (6), daughter of Naresh Ram.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The local people told that there was a fire on the way out of the house itself, due to which people could not leave quickly.
Sadar police station in-charge Satyendra Mishra said that five to six people were injured in the fire and have been admitted to SKMCH for treatment. The police is investigating the case The condition of two of the injured is said to be serious.
