Thiruvananthapuram, March 30 (). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was accorded a rousing welcome at the airport here on Thursday as he arrived on his first visit to Kerala after assuming office.
Kharge was received by top party leaders and party workers accorded him a traditional welcome when he came out of the airport. The crowd was such that he could hardly enter his vehicle.
Incidentally, there was also Shashi Tharoor, Lok Sabha member from Thiruvananthapuram, who contested against Kharge for the post of party president but lost by a wide margin.
Kharge has reached Kerala to participate in the centenary celebrations of the Vaikom Satyagraha.
