In light of the Cyclone Montha warning, Dr. G Lakshmisha, the Collector of NTR District, has instructed all officials to maintain a heightened state of alert. A Command Control Center (CCC) has been established at the Collectorate, operating 24/7 with the helpline number 91549 70454 to oversee emergency response efforts. On Saturday, the Collector conducted a teleconference with RDOs, Municipal Commissioners, Tahsildars, and Special Officers from various assembly constituencies to assess the precautionary measures in place. He mandated the creation of control rooms not only at the Collectorate but also at both division and mandal levels. Various departments, including Revenue, Police, Irrigation, Medical and Health, Fire Services, Civil Supplies, Municipal, and Panchayat Raj, have been instructed to collaborate closely.
The Collector stressed the necessity for officials and staff to be accessible around the clock in the field and for special teams to be deployed at city and village levels. He ordered a focus on low-lying regions and immediate activation of rehabilitation centers as needed. Additionally, efforts should be made to raise awareness among residents in hilly areas, and pregnant women and the elderly should be relocated to safe shelters in advance. Dr. Lakshmisha also called for inspections of ponds and areas prone to landslides, directing that protective measures be implemented where required. Officials from the power department were advised to remain alert and promptly restore electricity in case of outages.
