This initiative intends to offer users around the world more intuitive, secure, and comprehensive mobile AI experiences. The extensive array of innovative AI features is set to launch with the forthcoming OPPO Find X9 Series and ColorOS 16 on the company’s flagship devices. Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at OPPO, stated, “Collaborating closely with partners like Google enables us to incorporate next-generation AI experiences that are not only powerful but also highly personalized and secure.
Our objective is to provide users with an AI assistant that genuinely comprehends their personal needs while being trustworthy with their personal data.” Central to this collaboration is OPPO’s AI Mind Space app, available on the anticipated Find X9 Series, which is designed to assist users in capturing and organizing information more effectively. With a simple three-finger swipe, users can save content currently displayed on their screen—be it text, images, or web pages—directly into a consolidated hub. AI Mind Space automatically organizes saved content, creating a single, orderly repository for users’ ideas and information. To fully leverage its capabilities, OPPO has teamed up with Google to integrate AI Mind Space with Gemini.
This integration enables Gemini to access information and assist users in acting upon content from AI Mind Space. Users maintain control by selecting what Gemini can access and retrieve from AI Mind Space. For instance, a user planning a trip can store articles and notes within their AI Mind Space and then request Gemini to formulate a detailed itinerary based on the saved content. Beyond AI Mind Space, users can interact with Gemini to link to other OPPO applications, share their screen or camera for assistance, or utilize Gemini’s new image editing model, Nano Banana, for photo editing. With Gemini Live, users can inquire about any visible content.
They can share their device’s camera or screen for help with organization or receive step-by-step assistance for everyday tasks, like fixing a coffee machine. Currently being rolled out, Gemini can offer visual guidance by highlighting elements directly on the screen, creating an innovative approach to learning and problem-solving. When it comes to image editing, users can employ Nano Banana to enhance photos with creative edits using straightforward prompts on both generated and uploaded images. As AI becomes more prevalent in everyday life, OPPO and Google have designed a solution that prioritizes user privacy. This collaboration utilizes the OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which employs Google Cloud’s confidential computing services.
This structure guarantees that sensitive data for AI processing is managed in a secure and encrypted environment, rendering it inaccessible to any third party, including OPPO itself. Features such as AI Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer operate within this secure framework, empowering users to take advantage of intelligent services while ensuring their personal data remains confidential. Customers purchasing the Find X9 or Find X9 Pro will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which offers enhanced access to new and powerful features in Gemini along with 2TB of cloud storage.
