How AI is Revolutionizing FOX Sports and MLB Coverage in 2025

Under the bright lights of the 2025 World Series, every pitch, swing, and decision carries significant importance, not only for the players but also for the broadcasters delivering the excitement to millions of fans. This year, artificial intelligence has emerged as a transformative force. Google Cloud has collaborated with FOX Sports and Major League Baseball (MLB) to change the way the World Series is narrated, produced, and presented. With its Gemini AI platform, Google Cloud is elevating live sports storytelling and ensuring seamless coverage.

The partnership revolves around two major innovations — FOX Foresight, powered by Vertex AI, and MLB’s Connectivity Agent, affectionately named “Connie.” Both systems were launched on October 24, 2025, and have rapidly become integral components of the broadcasting framework. For broadcasters like Joe Davis, John Smoltz, and analysts such as Alex Rodriguez, timing is crucial. FOX Sports’ FOX Foresight platform employs Google Cloud’s AI tools to analyze extensive MLB data in real-time. As a result, production teams can receive swift answers to intricate questions, such as, “Which left-handed batters perform best with the bases loaded in the ninth inning?” — all within seconds rather than minutes.

This immediacy and depth empower commentators to uncover hidden stories and contextual insights while the game progresses. According to Alex Rodriguez, FOX Sports analyst and former Yankees star, “It helps us identify the big stories, who’s gaining momentum, who’s struggling, and which performances are defining this postseason.” By revealing such insights in real time, FOX Foresight allows broadcasters to enrich their commentary with detail and emotion, enhancing the viewing experience. While FOX Foresight boosts storytelling, MLB’s Connectivity Agent — known as Connie — guarantees that broadcasts proceed without interruption. Built on Google Cloud’s agentic AI technology, Connie consistently supervises the complex network of stadium feeds, servers, cameras, and cables that enable live broadcasts.

If a connection weakens or a server starts to lag, Connie autonomously addresses the issue, rectifying it in real time. This proactive strategy prevents possible disruptions before they impact viewers, enabling engineers to concentrate on innovation rather than crisis resolution. By merging AI-driven storytelling with automated network management, Google Cloud’s Gemini is transforming the sports experience — both on and off the field. From the emotional commentary to the precise control room operations, this collaboration signifies a new chapter in live sports broadcasting — one where human expertise and artificial intelligence work in harmony to bring the World Series to life.
