Apple has introduced its most sophisticated tablet to date — the iPad Pro equipped with the new M5 chip. Tailored for creators, designers, and professionals, the latest iPad Pro features significant enhancements in processing power, display quality, and AI capabilities while maintaining its signature slim aluminum design. The M5 chip stands out as the key feature of this release, boasting up to 5.6 times faster AI performance compared to the first M1-powered iPad Pro. This improvement results in practical benefits such as quicker image generation, more fluid video masking, and enhanced upscaling, especially beneficial for users of Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and comparable creative applications.
In terms of pricing and availability in India, the 11-inch iPad Pro begins at ₹99,900, whereas the 13-inch model starts at ₹1,29,900, offered in Space Black and Silver finishes. Both models can be configured with up to 2TB of storage to accommodate demanding workloads. Pre-orders are currently open, with in-store sales commencing on October 22, 2025. The cellular variants are equipped with Apple’s new C1X modem, providing up to 50% faster mobile data speeds and better battery efficiency. Regarding specifications, the iPad Pro M5 features 11-inch and 13-inch Ultra Retina XDR displays with tandem OLED technology. It operates on iPadOS 26, with 12GB of unified memory and a base storage of 256GB.
The rear camera is a 12MP sensor capable of recording 4K video, while the 12MP ultra-wide front camera includes Centre Stage for smooth video calls. A 31.29Wh battery ensures all-day functionality for work, entertainment, and creative tasks. The M5 chip features a 10-core GPU and a Neural Accelerator in each core, elevating AI-driven tasks. The CPU integrates four performance cores with six efficiency cores, achieving up to 6.7 times faster 3D rendering and 6 times faster video transcoding than the M1 iPad Pro. Apple has also enhanced memory bandwidth to 150GB/s and doubled the storage read/write speeds, resulting in quicker file management and app performance.
The Ultra Retina XDR display is now brighter and more color-accurate, reaching a peak of 1,600 nits in HDR mode. It supports ProMotion, True Tone, and offers an optional nano-texture glass finish to reduce glare, making it perfect for outdoor or studio environments. Connectivity has been improved with the C1X modem and N1 networking chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread for enhanced wireless efficiency. With iPadOS 26, the tablet features improved multitasking through a revamped window system, a new PDF Preview app, and upgraded Apple Intelligence features like AI-assisted reminders and live translations.
Apple has also updated its accessory lineup, introducing a lighter Magic Keyboard with a function key row and a new Apple Pencil Pro that includes haptic feedback for precise drawing. These enhancements position the iPad Pro as not just a refined tablet but a powerhouse for creativity, productivity, and AI development, effectively blurring the lines between tablet and laptop for the next generation of creators and professionals.
